A client requested a painting of their Boxer, Sampson, as a tribute to him and his companionship.
Sampson unfortunately suffered from Degenerative Myelopathy for most of his life. DM is a disease affecting the spinal chord of dogs, making it difficult for them to walk. Currently there is no cure.
The Painting
For the portrait I used water color paints
Details
It was important to me to make this painting colorful for the client, I added a variety of vibrant colors and and an assortment of flowers to make this painting stand out.
Remembering Sampson
Unfortunately, Sampson passed away in June, only a few months after this painting was finished. It is always and honor for my art to be a part of a loved one and contribute to their memory living on.
